The website feature real-life accounts of issues such as effect on work and education, social life and relationships, consulting health professionals and treatment.

One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of us will ever face. If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or a loved one has, you’ll want a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way. Macmillan provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.

Clinics and Services

HEALTH PROMOTION SERVICES

immuniseOur nurses currently provide a range of services including:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Blood tests
  • ECGs
  • Dressings
  • Injections
  • There are also sessions for patients with asthma and diabetes.

All other tests must be arranged by your doctor.

  • Well Woman Clinics - twice weekly - Cervical Cytology (Smear) - by appointment with a practice nurse in the Well Woman Clinics
  • Well Man Clinics - by appointment with a nurse
  • Baby Immunisation Clinics -Tuesdays from 1400 - 1500.
  • Development Checks - by arrangement through the health visitor.
  • Travel Immunisation - by appointment with the practice nurse.
  • Contraceptive Services - by appointment. Most doctors prescribe oral contraception, fit caps and coils and will advise patients about sterilisation.
  • Minor Operations - by arrangement with your doctor.
  • Ante Natal Clinics - by appointment during surgery times. A midwife attends for Ante Natal Clinic on Thursdays and booking clinic on Fridays.

CHARGES

General Medical Services (GMS) are provided free under the National Health Service (NHS). Charges are raised for non-GMS services such as the completion of private medical insurance claim forms, holiday cancellation insurance claim forms, counter-signature of passport photographs, etc.

A list of the most common charges as recommended by the British Medical Association (BMA) is displayed in reception at the surgery.
