- Diagnosis: Type 2 diabetes diagnosed within the last 6 years
- Body Mass Index (BMI):
- 27 or higher
- 25 or higher for individuals from Black, Asian, or minority ethnic backgrounds
Programme Overview:
Participants will receive structured support, including:
- Total Diet Replacement (TDR): A 12-week plan using nutritionally complete meal-replacement products, such as soups and shakes.
- Food Reintroduction: A gradual reintroduction of regular foods over four weeks.
- Maintenance Phase: Ongoing support for eight months to help sustain healthy lifestyle changes.
This comprehensive approach aims to facilitate significant weight loss and improve blood glucose levels, potentially leading to diabetes remission.
